What is ViPR?

ViPR, which stands for Vitality, Performance, and Reconditioning, is a versatile fitness tool designed to combine movement and strength training. Developed to bridge the gap between strength and functional movement, ViPR allows users to engage in a wide range of dynamic, multi-directional exercises that mimic natural movement patterns. By adding load to movement, ViPR helps improve overall fitness, including strength, endurance, flexibility, and mobility, making it an effective tool for all fitness levels.

Meet ViPR

I was first introduced to ViPR in 2009 and it’s been a staple, if not essential, tool ever since! The versatility and durability of ViPR allows me to express my creativity as coach, enabling me to come up with effective solutions that drive client progress by challenging/loading movements and fostering engaging exercise modalities.

As a physiotherapist, I’ve found ViPR to be an incredible tool in my practice. Its versatility allows me to tailor exercises to a wide range of patients, from those recovering from injuries to athletes looking to enhance performance. The dynamic, full-body movements it enables are excellent for improving strength, mobility, and coordination in a functional way.

ViPR enables me to replicate the global and contextual movement patterns my athletes rely on in competition, this translates to better performance on the pitch. Its versatility unlocks a myriad of progressions, regressions and ways to stimulate my clients through dynamic movements, which has quite frankly make traditional strength training equipment redundant.

My practice focus is on rehabilitation and functional conditioning for older adults, and the Vipr stands out for its versatility in this setting. Its ease of maneuverability makes it an excellent tool for training task-specific movements and for loading mobility exercises. Vipr effectively bridges the gap between body weight only movement and heavier strength training, allowing for graded and specific loading of joints and soft tissues for those who are deconditioned or returning to exercise from injury.

ViPR is a tool I pick up daily for myself and clients for purposeful and comprehensive loaded movement training. It allows me to ingeniously combine task-oriented movement patterns with resistance training, fostering agility, mobility and strength gains in one time efficient workout. It’s also way more fun than traditional weights!

ViPR is an essential tool for anyone that wants to improve their movement. It’s not until you educate yourself on how to use it that you really understand its versatility and power to get results. It’s a great investment and one of the most used tools in our gym, loved by all our expert coaches.
